Redbank School is a joint NSW Health and Department of Education facility located within the grounds of Westmead Hospital Westmead. The setting is a School for Specific Purpose (SSP) that enrols inpatients/outpatients of secondary school age accessing mental health related treatment programs and services delivered by the Western Sydney Local Health Districtâs Perinatal, Child & Youth Mental Health Services. The school delivers quality education for students in the Acute Adolescent Ward Redbank House and for students requiring intensive educational support post discharge from the ward. Coordinated interagency planning for sustainable wellbeing, personalised learning and support and transition are the schoolâs core business areas. Specialist staff build and maintain strong, strategic partnerships with students, parents/carers and community schools and work together in multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal educational outcomes for students.
