Plumpton High School is located in
an urban area serving a diverse population within a low socioeconomic context.
Currently 1020 students attend the school, representing over 65 different
nationalities and including approximately 90 Aboriginal students. The numerous
extra-curricular opportunities include the areas of performing arts, student
leadership, engineering and technology, the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, the
environment and media and communication. There is a strong culture of
school-developed professional learning to facilitate our vision as expressed in
our strategic plan, which is based on the premise that excellence comes when
students and staff commit to becoming the best they can be, contributing to the
local and global community in a meaningful way. Plumpton believes this goal can
be best realised within a supportive, innovative, creative and stimulating
educational environment focussed on building intellectual capacity, positive
relationships, strong selfâconcept, leadership capacity and high quality
reflective practices.
