The Assistant Principal Learning and Support (APLaS) will support schools K-12 and provide direct and timely assistance to teachers of students with additional learning and support needs across 22 diverse schools in the Windsor Principals’ Network. Included in this cohort are small schools with teaching principals and two environmental education centres.
The successful applicant will be working collaboratively with a range of school-based staff, other APLaS from the Nirimba Team, and School Services personnel. This position will be based at Pitt Town Public School with a current enrolment of 305.
The Disability Standards for Education 2005 provides the context for the role and activities of the APLaS.
Emphasis in the role of the APLaS will reflect school and state-wide priorities and programs that support students with additional learning and support needs in schools.
The role will be underpinned by a collaborative and consultative approach so that the student and/or their parent or caregiver are actively involved in the student’s education.
