Picton High School was established in 1958 as a co-educational comprehensive school and services a semi-rural growing community, with strong links to its local community and feeder primary schools. There are 1058 student enrolments, including 7% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and a 5 class support unit comprising classes of ED, MC, ASD, IM and IO. the school has a tradition of sporting and academic achievement and is recognised within the district for it's innovative approach to curriculum, extensive student welfare and learning support programs.
Picton High School is currently undergoing a large rebuild of a new Innovation Campus for student enrolments of between 1500 and 2000, with an anticipated completion date of 2020. The innovation campus will have flexible learning spaces, multi-purpose hall, modern science laboratories, kitchens and a well-equipped library. Facilities for photography, automotive, information technology, creative and performing arts will be state of the art.
