Penrith South Public School is a growing school located in Western Sydney with a current enrolment of 517 students including 14% of students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 20% from a non-English speaking background in 22 classes (19 mainstream and 3 support classes). The school is part of Phase 2 of the Early Action for Success program and strives to provide quality professional learning for staff to ensure a high standard of education is provided to all students. K-2 and 3-6 Instructional Leaders support staff to analyse data and ensure learning improvements are monitored, reviewed and demonstrate growth in the school priorities of reading and numeracy. The school is embedding visible learning practices that facilitate professional dialogue, collaboration, classroom observations and the modelling of effective practice promoting academic achievement. The school has a strong Sports and Creative and Performing Arts culture engaging in a variety of successful programs to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes. The school actively implements Positive Behaviour for Learning promoting a safe and respectful learning environment.
