Parry School is a school for specific purposes with an enrolment of 21 students in Years 7-12 with significant behavioural difficulties and emotional disturbances. The school consists of 3 classes and the New England Learning Centre. Parry is located in Tamworth and is committed to working with local partner primary and high schools, parents and caregivers and the community in genuine partnerships. One third of the student population identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.
Parry School offers an opportunity to improve literacy and numeracy skills, make links to vocational pathways, build positive relationships, through strengths based curriculum, develop social skills and provide innovative engaging learning experiences. Programs focus on the teaching and learning or adjusted mainstream curriculum that supports academic, social and behavioural outcomes through a wellbeing lens.
