Parramatta High School has an enrolment of approxiamately 932 students (including 86% students from a non-English speaking background and 62% boys). A selective stream of 60 students commenced in Year 7 in 2010. The school draws students from low socio-economic areas and has a good mix of experienced and early career teachers focussing on literacy, numeracy, technology and academic excellence. The school has a range of Quality Teaching programs that support learning in the classroom and recognise student diversity. The staff is skilled in and applies the Quality Teaching model to enhance best practice. All staff are trained in GERRIC (Gifted and Talented) Strong student welfare and learning programs are provided across all stages including PBL and Positive Education.
