Nowra East Public School currently has a total of 428 enrolments, including 53% Aboriginal students and has six support classes, a DoE preschool and Our Mia Mia Wellbeing Hub attached to the school. There is a strong connection with the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group and other community agencies.
The school services a low socio-economic community and is supported by socio-economic and Aboriginal background funding and is involved in the Early Action for Success strategy. Literacy, numeracy and student engagement are focus areas for the school with all teachers engaging in significant professional learning.
