Northmead Public School

Northmead Public School opened in 1924 and located in the Girraween network within the Metropolitan North Operational Directorate. Our current enrolment numbers are 740 students. There is a diverse population with approximately 40% from a language background other than English. Less than 1% of student population identify as being Aboriginal.

As a collaborative learning community, the school promotes a safe, compassionate and stimulating environment where everyone is inspired to be critical, creative and collaborative thinkers and provided with the tools and support to achieve their potential as caring, resilient and productive global citizens. Northmead’s staff models a love of learning through continued professional development, a commitment to continual improvement using the School Excellence Framework and by promoting proactive, mutually respectful and cooperative partnerships with our families and community.

Future focused teaching and learning, responsive evidence-based teaching and assessment practices and enhanced wellbeing within a culture of high expectations form our school’s strategic directions 2018-20.
