Come visit Melbourne's newest museum! NCM offers a look into the past, present and future ways that we connect with technology and each other.

Excursions at NCM

The National Communication Museum (NCM) is the ideal destination for your next STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) excursion. Aligned with the school curriculum, we offer self-guided experiences, guided tours, and hands-on workshops in partnership with Swinburne University of Technology (PrimeSCI!).

To learn more head to our website ncm.org.au/education or email us at education@ncm.org.au

Free Teacher Previews

To plan your visit in advance, we offer free visits for teachers. Available Wednesday – Sunday between 10am–5pm.

Self-Guided Visits

A self-guided visit allows your class to explore the museum at its own pace. We provide a discounted entry rate for larger school groups, along with a range of self-guided activities and resources to enhance the learning experience, such as our Spy Activities: interactive missions linked to our exhibitions and displays, in which students track down hidden intel across the museum.

  • $12 per student (groups under 20 students)

  • Teachers & assistants: Free

Curator-Guided Tour (Add-On)

For an enriched experience, schools can book an optional Curator-Guided Tour as an add-on to their self-guided visit. Led by one of our expert curators, this tour provides deeper insights into the museum’s collections and key themes.

  • Additional $150 per group

  • Available upon request, subject to availability
