Murwillumbah East Public School located in the Tweed Valley on the far north coast of NSW has a current enrolment of 234, including 26 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. The school has two multi-categorical classes catering for students with a range of additional learning, emotional, physical and behavioural needs. Current school priorities include striving for excellence in learning, leading and teaching with an emphasis on future focused teaching and learning, Positive Behaviour for Learning and student wellbeing are major priorities. Transitions, both to and from primary school are supported through extensive partnerships and programs in conjunction with pre-schools, high schools and community groups. The school is currently part of the Early Action for Success Program. Major building works are scheduled to commence in the near future and will enhance teaching and learning. The school has an active and engaged Parents and Citizens Association that supports the school in its priorities and directions.
