Morisset Public School (MPS) is situated on the south west side of Lake Macquarie. The school is a proud member of the Western Shores Learning Alliance (WSLA) which comprises six primary schools and Morisset High School. Morisset Public School has a current enrolment of 202 students, of whom 18% identify as Aboriginal and 12% are from language backgrounds other than English. Morisset Public School is a Positive Behaviour for Learning school with strong emphasis on student wellbeing interventions and links with external agencies. Under Early Action for Success, L3 is strongly utilised in the K-2 classrooms. The school is committed to future focused learning, ensuring quality teaching, high expectations and use of current technologies; and encouraging high student engagement and self–regulated learning. Evidence indicates that strong parent and community participation in student learning continues to develop via active involvement in school initiatives, in partnership with the Parent and Citizens' Association and the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group. Ongoing professional learning of staff delivers quality pedagogy in Literacy, Numeracy and student wellbeing.
