Monteagle Public School is a small rural school situated on Wiradjuri country fourteen kilometres from the larger town of Young in the South West Slopes.
The school has twenty two students who come from both the small village of Monteagle as well as the larger town of Young. 10% of the population identifies as Aboriginal. The grounds are set on five hectares and the school is well resourced with a synthetic tennis court, outdoor classroom, modern play equipment and technology devices for each student.
Teaching staff at Monteagle Public School consists of a teaching Principal and one part-time temporary teacher as well as a part-time Assistant Principal Curriculum and Instruction. Staff provide quality educational programs and learning environments that meet students' individual needs, using the PBL values of respect, resilience and ingenuity to underpin everything that they do.
The school has strong connections with the Young Small Schools Learning Community, (YSSLC) and Hilltops Organisation Of Public Schools (HOOPS) for sporting, academic, cultural and social connections as well as staff professional collaboration. on a professional level.
The school focuses on high impact teaching strategies, explicit teaching and embedding quality teaching practices in literacy and numeracy. There are strong connections with the whole school community.
