Miranda Public School (enrolment 267, 49 % students with a language background other than English , 2% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background ,a support unit comprised of 3 classes – 2 IO and 1 Autism transition) is a community focused and innovative school situated in the centre of the Sutherland Shire. Miranda Public School is one of the oldest schools in the area, beginning in 1893, and celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2018. Our school celebrates the diversity of students from 58 cultural backgrounds. Miranda Public School was the first Public School in the area to become a Leader In Me school and we are dedicated to developing the leadership qualities in our students and staff .The school has a strong focus on nurturing the whole child and fostering relationships within the school and wider community, we strive for excellence through innovative pedagogy centred on high quality evidence based educational practices.
