Minnamurra Public School draws approximately 400 students from the Gainsborough and Kiama Downs area and sits in a beautiful coastal environment near the Minnamurra River. The school motto, Learning to Live, Learning to Care, depicts the ethos that students develop skills to make them effective participants in society. Pleasant and accessible outdoor play areas promote active lifestyles and healthy mindsets. Positive Behaviour for Learning is currently being implemented, with students encouraged to be responsible, be respectful and be their best. The school is committed to meeting the community's high expectations through quality learning programs delivered by experienced and committed staff. Regular opportunities are provided for students to develop and demonstrate their talents and interests in all areas. Differentiated learning occurs in classes throughout the school to cater for the individual learning needs of students. Programs are personalised and needs-based so that all students have every opportunity to participate in all aspects of school life. Our Indigenous Education Team ensures cultural aspects are part of learning programs and there is commitment to a strong allegiance with the local AECG. The school is closely aligned to the Kiama Community of Schools and values collaboration with the wider school community. An active and committed P&C Association supports the school in achieving a shared vision for the future.
