Middle Dural Public School

Middle Dural Public School is a small school of two classes, consisting of 31 students set in the semi-rural area of north-western Sydney, that sits on the land of the Dharug people with 3% of students identifying as Aboriginal. The school is an inclusive learning environment that caters for a diverse range of students with 40% of students having a language background other than English.

 

Open communication and teamwork are evident among students, teachers and parents within the school with collaborative and informed continuous feedback as strengths.

 

There are productive partnerships with the Small Schools' Learning Alliance, as well as the Community of Schools, providing valued interactions and connections through sporting, public speaking, the arts and leadership opportunities. These forums also provide valuable staff connections through shared professional learning and collegial collaboration.

 

The school focuses on consistently embedding data-informed quality teaching practices in literacy and numeracy and using high impact teaching strategies and all staff are committed to valuing and developing the individual needs of each student.

 

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education, student wellbeing and explicit teaching are a priority and the school has strong connections with the wider community and there is a very supportive P&C.
