Merriwa Central School

Merriwa Central School is located in a supportive rural community, approximately two hours west of Newcastle. The school caters for an enrolment of 240 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 with a separate secondary and primary campus. The school encourages all students to embrace their identity and now has 20% of students identifying as Aboriginal. The school has an ongoing commitment to the development and delivery of quality teaching and learning programs, with an emphasis on vocational education. The school is part of the Upper Hunter Trade Training Centre and has strong community support for its school based traineeship program.
