Menindee Central School is located 110kms East of Broken Hill and delivers curriculum K-12 as part of the Wilvandee Access cluster. There are approximately 90 students of whom approximately 77% identify as Aboriginal. The school is part of the Connected Communities strategy which aims to improve educational outcomes for Aboriginal children and young people. The strategy positions the school as a community hub that broadens the influence of the community and school leadership in the delivery of key services that support children and young people from birth through school into further training, study and employment. The school focuses on enhancing students' engagement and welfare, encouraging community involvement and providing quality curriculum delivery through child-centred, culturally aware teaching and learning. A school reference group, comprising AECG, elders and community members, plays an integral role in the leadership of the school.
