Menai High School is a large comprehensive school with a student population of 1270. Approximately 30% of students are form a language background other than Englis,12%of students are from a low-socio-economic background and 2% of students are from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds. The school's vision is to develop students to become skilled learners and skilled citizens who are skilled for life. Whole school priorities within the 2018-2020 school plan are the implementation of formative assessment strategies within the classroom and the explicit teaching of high order responding. The CAPA faculty is a vibrant, high achieving faculty within the school incorporating visual arts, music, dance and drama. The faculty successfully engages students in meaningful learning by offering a wide range of outstanding curricular and co-curricular programs including concert band, stage band, vocal ensemble, junior and senior dance ensembles.
