Lurnea Public School has a student population of 467 students, Preschool to Year 6, from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, including 40 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 73% students from a non-English speaking background. A Support Unit of 4 classes caters for students with Autism, moderate and mild intellectual disabilities as well as students with complex additional needs. The staff at Lurnea Public School consists of dedicated, experienced teachers and teachers in the early stages of their career. The school delivers outstanding professional learning and innovative classroom practice. Lurnea Public School is also a Positive Behaviour for Learning school and we have a proud tradition of teaching children to be safe, respectful learners.
