Lord Howe Island Central School is a small isolated TP2 school located on Lord Howe Island approximately 500 km east of Port Macquarie. This remote setting provides a number of unique challenges as well as some wonderful opportunities and rewards. Along with a mainstream Primary school Lord Howe Central School provides significant support to students undertaking Distance Education in their high school years and the support of these students is vital to their success. Lord Howe Island Central School has an active, supportive and involved parent community, many of whom have a long history with the school. The parent community consists of a School Council as well as the P&C. The staff at the school include 2 permanent teachers as well as the principal who provides assistance to the high school students enrolled in Distance Education through Camden Haven High School. The school currently has 42 students enrolled Kindergarten to Year six and supports 7 high school students.
