Lomandra School, a school for Specific Purposes, supports approximately 80 students, years 5-12 (Aboriginal student enrolments fluctuate between 15 and 25 students), with severe disruptive behaviours and/or complex mental health conditions. The school provides intensive curriculum support as well as addressing the behavioural, social and emotional needs of the students. The school's goal is to deliver, through well-tailored individualised quality learning programs, successful transition to mainstream settings, further education, employment and community life.
Lomandra School has strong links with its local community, feeder schools and community agencies. Lomandra School oversees the Return to School Support Program (Campbelltown Suspension Centre) and the Sherwood Program - an intensive support program for Out of Home Care students. The school oversees regional personnel including the Support Teacher Transition Team (STT), Assistant Principal Learning and Support Team and an Out of Home Care teacher (OOHC). The role of Assistant Principal Special Education at Lomandra School may include executive oversight of these programs.
