Leura Public School is a small school, with a current student enrolment of 226. 1.7% of the student population identifies as Aboriginal. Situated on the edge of the Blue Mountains National Park, care of the environment is a key focus with the school holding a custodial role of the Hanging Swamp. Staff are focused on the implementation of quality literacy and numeracy programs, utilising the progressions to differentiate instruction and monitor student progress. Creative and Performing Arts are highly valued with Music and Visual Arts as Release from Face to Face subjects for all students. There is a high degree of family and community involvement across all school activities, and the school has an active and engaged P&C which supports the school in a variety of ways. Leura PS is a Positive Behaviour for Learning school and students are at the centre of all decision-making.
