Lavington East Public School (LEPS) draws approximately 350 students from the north eastern part of Lavington. The school structure focuses on stage groupings within 16 classes (including 2 M/C classes), supported by other specialist teaching and administrative staff. The school motto, 'Learning for Life', encompasses the ethos and dedication of all staff to nurture the full potential of every child, developing the skills and values necessary for success in education, life and work. Students come from backgrounds that represent 12 different countries of origin including Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Uganda and India. As part of our student population we have 27 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 83 Language Background Other Than English students. The school has a strong P&C committee which consistently support students and the school community.
Lavington East Public is currently at the beginning of a new journey with evaluating the schoolâs mission statement and narrative and developing systems and structures to support teaching and learning. Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) expectations are also under review to revitalise PBL back in the school. By becoming a member of the Lavington East Public School team you would be expected to strengthen the schools focus on improving student and teacher growth through reflective practices based on evidence-based research.
