Kentlyn Public School is a dynamic, caring and inclusive learning community in the Campbelltown Network of schools with a current enrolment of 126 students. 23% of students are from non-English speaking backgrounds and 7% of students are Aboriginal. Our school vision keeps us focussed on providing quality teaching, learning and leadership. Kentlyn Public School was the proud recipient of this year’s Executive Director’s Award for its cross-school collaboration with Ruse Public School. This collaboration provides opportunities for sharing and reflecting on ideas and best practice relating to teaching and learning, educational leadership and providing a culture of quality support for teachers and students. It is anticipated that the position will commence on 28 January 2020. The school is currently emulating the Early Action for Success initiative working with an instructional leader across K-6 as well as an instructional leader 3-6 through the Aboriginal Initiatives Program. There is a strong emphasis on improving student literacy and numeracy, staff professional learning and quality student well-being programs. L3 is being implemented across K-2 classes. The school is beginning to implement Inquiry Based Learning through STEM based programming and is seeking opportunities to build its programs in this area. Our commitment to providing a quality education is based on a collaborative community approach and a culture of mutual respect and appreciation, and is underpinned by our school’s core values.
