Kempsey South Public School has an enrolment of 138 students, with 67% from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background. The school is located in the Macleay Valley on the Mid North Coast of NSW, the heart of Dunghutti country, and has a fantastic mixture of experienced, mid-career and early career teachers.
We currently have two multi-categorical support classes in place, with a third approved to commence in 2020. Our community values education very highly and parents and carers are keen to be involved in decision making and to support the teachers, staff and the school.
Kempsey South Public School hosts the Macleay Public Schools (MPS) Digital Learners Network and the MPS Literacy & Numeracy Network as well as working closely with our community of schools group to ensure successful participation in CAPA festivals, chess competitions, STEM and robotics challenge days, public speaking, spelling bees and PSSA sport.
The successful candidate will be part of the executive team consisting of the Principal, Assistant Principal and Instructional Leader (Deputy Principal) where there is a focus on continual learning for all staff to ensure our students succeed and thrive in a supportive and relevant learning environment.
