Located in the Inner West, Kegworth Public School acknowledges the Cadigal and Wangal people, who are the traditional owners of the land and pay respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
Kegworth is a vibrant P – 6 school which services students from the local community and beyond. Our students come from a wide range of diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander (2.5%) and LBOTE (28%) with a current school enrolment of 364 students. Our school fosters a safe, caring and inclusive environment that strives to develop students as creative, resourceful and responsible learners in an ever changing and technologically demanding society. It is valued and supported by an engaged parent community and highly motivated and experienced staff who are committed to ensuring the best educational success and experiences possible for each student.
Our school is focussed on whole school data driven practices in Literacy and Numeracy, through explicit teaching, planning and programming and quality assessments to drive student achievement and success.
The Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Instruction position is a leadership role dedicated to ensuring that literacy and numeracy knowledge and skills are embedded in curriculum and assessment; high quality teaching practices are enhanced; and the capabilities of middle leaders are strengthened in literacy and numeracy instruction. It shares the broader educational imperatives of the Assistant Principal position but with an explicit focus on the leadership of effective, evidence-based literacy and numeracy teaching and assessment practices for improved student learning outcomes across the curriculum.
The Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Instruction provides high support and guidance to enhance teacher growth and development in literacy and numeracy and strengthens schoolwide instructional capabilities across the curriculum for middle and senior leaders.
