Illaroo Road Public School, North Nowra, is a South Coast school situated on the northern side of the Shoalhaven River. We are well known in our community for our academic, extracurricular and student focused programs: achievements embodied in the motto “Reach for the Sky”. This is the result of the outstanding work ethic of our staff who engage collaboratively across the whole school to ensure each student achieves at their potential and is known, valued and cared for. We have a focus on individualised and whole staff professional learning with literacy and numeracy specialists working alongside classroom teachers, learning and support teachers and executive staff. The Assistant Principal Special Education will teach one of our autism classes and lead the team of 2 teachers and 3 school learning support officers. The assistant principal will ensure that day to day operations within the unit are effectively facilitated and managed. Outstanding interpersonal skills will ensure all stakeholders work collaboratively toward improved educational outcomes for our students. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator to become a leader in special education (autism).
