Stuart Hale has worked for the last 16 years to bring a professional development programme to schools while working for the New Zealand distributor of Apple Computers. Stuart Hale is now working as iEducator Ltd for the last 2 years and is looking at adapting the model to bring a more comprehensive yet more flexible approach to this area for schools.
In talking to schools and listening to their needs over the last 2 years a trend has emerged;
The need for more in depth on going professional development school wide
Continue the momentum that being part of a cluster has generated!
Awareness of the potential of the Apple software that comes with the computer as well as the ministry supplied software
I am now working with a number of schools as they explore the use of mobile technologies within the school - especially the iPod Touch and more recently the iPad. I have experience with a range of deployment sizes of this exciting technology from 5 through to a school with 600+ iPod Touches. At conferences, clusters and Principal Association meetings I am often presenting a vision and a strategy for a way forward with Mobile technologies that I have been evolved in here and with overseas deployments.
