The school prides itself on the excellent educational programs offered by its dedicated staff, assisting 91 students (54% non-English speaking background, 5% Aboriginal and/or Torres Straight Islander background) to develop and extend their talents in a safe and supportive environment. The school has three mainstream classes and four support classes catering for students with autism and/or a moderate intellectual disability with autism. Students, staff and parents enjoy the benefits associated with a small school – personalised learning, yet as a member of the Cowpasture Community of Schools, students are provided with access to the benefits of a large school community including interschool sport, cultural performances, debating competitions and leadership opportunities. Horsley Park Public School has a genuine focus on children and the provision of differentiated learning, supported by an Instructional Leader and quality classroom teaching. Our school priority areas include literacy, numeracy and professional learning, with all staff committed to ongoing learning and capacity building. The school has strong community ties and is supported by a proactive and engaged Parents and Citizens Association. Horsley Park Public School is a dynamic school that is committed to providing programs that significantly contribute to the preparation of students as successful learners.
