HopeTown is a School for Specific Purposes (SSP), supporting the individual needs of students (Years 3 – 12) with a primary Mental Health diagnosis. Established in 1986, HopeTown has expansive grounds in a quiet, semi–rural environment bordered by beautiful natural bushland in the Wyong area. The school pays respects and acknowledges that it is on Darkinjung land and has a vital partnership with the AECG. Parents are integral partners at HopeTown and are engaged in innovative programs that support student outcomes.
The maximum student population is 56 students, with enrolment demand being high. There are approximately 10 teaching staff ranging in experience, with 15 support staff working as a united, dedicated team to provide students with an engaging, positive and successful individual educational program. HopeTown School’s staff put students at the centre of their decision making, are collaborative and committed to ongoing improvement in their practice. Every student at HopeTown is known, valued and cared for. The school offers individualised pathways for students including return to mainstream schools, Vocational Education and Training programs and HSC study.
HopeTown School addresses the academic, social and emotional needs of all its students. The school culture, community and learning environment is based on empowering individuals to connect, succeed and thrive with the expectation that they will become productive, engaged and successful members of society. HopeTown School endeavours to provide a therapeutic environment with strategic connections with a range of internal and external agencies.
