Applications are invited for the permanent position of Head Teacher Secondary Studies at Gulargambone Central School.
Gulargambone has a population of 500 people and is situated on the Castlereagh River 120km north of Dubbo NSW. Gulargambone Central School has a student population of 72 from Kindergarten to year 12 with 25 students in the secondary school. 85% of students identify as Aboriginal and the school has a FOIE of 203.
Small class sizes and additional SLSOs and Aboriginal Support Staff ensure that all students receive quality teaching and effective remedial support when needed. The school also has state of the art physical and technological facilities to support student learning.
The school is leading the way in improving student wellbeing and overcoming social disadvantage. A number of unique and effective programs have improved student engagement and created an atmosphere where students feel they belong and are cared for. The staff work as a supportive and collegial team with the students at the heart of all activities.
As part of the departments rural and remote strategy, permanent teachers and executive receive an addition $20,000 pa above the base salary and teachers and executive with 5 years’ experience in teaching receive a further $10,000 above the base salary for five years.
