Granville South Creative and Performing Arts High School (enrolment 580, 90% non-English speaking background) is a co-educational partially selective creative and performing arts high school in a low socio-economic community. There is a special education unit (5 classes for mild and moderate intellectual disabilities) and increasing numbers of refugee enrolments from Intensive English Centres.
The school’s strategic directions are Learning, Leading, and Teaching. There is a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning supported with professional development. Multiple teams in the school address ongoing school improvement, with a strong commitment from staff to support and improve student learning outcomes in an inclusive environment where cultural diversity is celebrated.
The Deputy
Principal Instructional Leader will teach, team-teach, plan and deliver
professional development, collaborate with all faculties, and lead relevant
school priorities, such as current REAL project-based learning, a whole school
Peer Observation Program, and a School Improvement Team focused on Pedagogy
including Curiosity and Powerful Learning. Instructional Leadership
responsibilities are relevant to Strategic Plan priorities.
