Grahamstown Public School is located in Raymond Terrace and services the needs of approximately 320 students from diverse backgrounds, including 20% of students identified as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. GPS is a dynamic school, currently with 13 classes, focused on achieving excellence across all domains.
The school’s current priorities include Early Action for Success underpinned by evidenced based, collaborative teaching practices in literacy and numeracy. Future directions will include continuing to strengthen quality literacy and numeracy practices, inquiry-based learning and developing a positive, inclusive culture across the whole school community. PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) forms an integral part of the school’s wellbeing programs.
