Forster Public School provides a quality teaching and learning environment. With a current enrolment of 730, we engage with our community to develop the academic, social, emotional and physical
needs of each child. We promote equity, excellence and opportunities for all in an environment where all students are known, valued and cared for. The Support Unit consists of five classes, 2 Autism, 1
Mild Intellectual, 1 Moderate Intellectual and 1 Multicategorical. It is staffed with highly experienced special education teachers and learning support officers, catering for students with intellectual and physical disabilities, autism and mental health issues.
The staff values professionalism, collaboration and dedication to developing the whole child. The school community are committed to our core values of 'Respect, Safety and Personal Best'
and explicitly teach expectations of behaviour in all classrooms through the Positive Behaviour for Learning ( PBL) framework. High impact teaching strategies ensure measurable, observable
progress is achieved for all students. The school is a proud member of the Great Lakes Learning Community of schools and works collaboratively to provide and enhance learning opportunities for students, celebrating academic,
cultural and sporting achievements at every opportunity.
