Looking for fresh ideas for your lessons? Bring forests and sustainability to life in your classroom at ForestLearning.edu.au, with more than 100 activities and ideas to choose from. ForestLearning.edu.au has a whole range of FREE resources and activities available for teachers to access, including factsheets, posters, multi-media tools for the classroom, activities and lesson ideas, as well as useful websites and industry reports.

You can access material for Years 3 to 12 across a range of key learning areas of the Australian Curriculum, including science, social science, earth and environmental science, history, geography, mathematics, biology and technology.

Cumberland State Forest Excursions
Forestry Corporation of NSW have exciting curriculum aligned excursion programs at Cumberland State Forest in Sydney, and Strickland State Forest, near Gosford on the Central Coast of NSW.

Students gain an overview of forest management and forest ecology, and undertake a number of activities relevant to their area of study. Programs can cater for up to 90 students per day, and fees apply. Information on excursions programs can be found at www.forests.nsw.gov.au/education

National Forest Learning Centre or Forest Discovery Tours – Tasmania
The National Forest Learning Centre in Hobart, is a purpose built Learning Centre which allows schools to spend an hour or two investigating various aspects of forest ecology, forest science and forest management through a range of hands‐on learning experiences developed by the Forest Education Foundation teachers.

You can also request a Forestry Discovery Tour. There is nothing better than to experience a forest ecosystem first hand – the majestic views, the dramatic landscapes... So let the Forest Education Foundation guide you on an exploration of the magnificent forests of Tasmania. Tours are available for individuals and small groups.
