Fairfield
West Public School provides each of the 750 students with an innovative quality
education and leadership opportunities in a safe and positive environment. The
school has a diverse and enthusiastic student population with 92% coming from
language backgrounds other than English, approximately 25% of whom are newly
arrived refugees. Currently there are 31 mainstream classes and 7 classes
in the Support Unit. The school community recognises the importance of the
development of the whole child, within the context of a rapidly changing world.
The staff
is comprised of both experienced and early career teachers who possess a wide
range of professional experiences, expertise and backgrounds. Teams of
teachers work collaboratively to ensure that students strive for their personal
best in a safe, challenging and nurturing environment where they are supported
to become successful, life-long learners, confident and creative individuals
and responsible and informed citizens.
