Ermington West PS has an enrolment of 191 students representing 27 language groups, 5.2% Aboriginal students and diversity in socio-economic status. Our students are self-motivated learners, confident and creative, with the personal skills for future suaccess and wellbeing. They organise and lead programs, mentor younger students, engage in inquiry-based learning and the wider community.
Ermington West PS teachers place student learning and equity at the centre of all professional learning and practice. Our teachers are the lead learners of the school. They are innovative and differentiate outcomes, content and teaching strategies. Our learning environments provide core and extended outcomes for students by delivering specific instruction of literacy and numeracy skills, facilitating opportunities for students to collaborate and celebrate the strengths, needs and interests of all learners.
Our school is a member of the Cumberland Community Connection working with other local primary and high schools to share expertise and resources and connect students to the wider community.
The parents and families of Ermington West PS are partners in learning. The community is actively involved in key aspects of decision making and are valued contributors to many facets of school life. Our community is passionate about the provision of quality student learning experiences. Our community members are visible partners in learning, sharing their expertise with students and volunteering to benefit all students. We are committed to creating an inclusive school where we recognise and celebrate the diversity of our students, their families and our teachers.
