Ellerston Public School is a small rural school situated in picturesque surroundings 69km from Scone, 167km from Tamworth and 185km from Maitland. The school has focussed on providing a quality education in a nurturing and innovative learning environment where all learners aspire to reach their potential. Everyone works together as a whole school community to prepare and inspire students to be creative, engaged and confident participants in our ever-changing and challenging world.

The school has an anticipated enrolment of 16 students for 2021. The school is committed to improving the literacy and numeracy achievements of all students with a strong focus on data driven, evidence based practices, ensuring differentiation of the curriculum to suit individual learning needs. In 2021, it is anticipated that the school will split into two cross–stage classes, K-2 and Years 3-6, which provides an opportunity for highly individualised and differentiated learning programs to suit each learners' development, three days a week. The role incorporates a significant teaching load.

Ellerston is part of the Upper Hunter network and an active participant in both the Upper Invermein Small Schools Network and Upper Hunter Community of Schools.  Accommodation recommendations and support may be available, if required.
