Dubbo North Public School (DNPS) has a student
population of 264 with 51% identifying as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait
Islander descent. The school receives Equity funding for low SES students and
Aboriginal Education funds through the Resource Allocation Model. There are 11
mainstream classes and 3 Special Education classes within the school, two of
these being Emotionally Disturbed classes and the third being a
Multicategorical class. At DNPS, there will continue to be a strong
focus on technology, literacy, numeracy, community partnerships and Teacher Quality.
We continue to implement the Early Action For Success initiative which targets
students in K â 2 in both Literacy and Numeracy and Positive Behaviour for
Learning (PBL), which explicitly teaches appropriate school behaviour. In 2017
we implemented the Early Action For Success initiative for Aboriginal students
in Years 3 to 6 to work towards the Premierâs priorities.
