Delegate Public School

School / Last updated 2 years, 1 month ago

Delegate Public School is of a high standing in the local community and the wider educational network. Current enrolment is 38 students in two classes, a K12 and 3456. The school is extremely well resourced, including the allocation of one-to-one technology for all students. All learning spaces are fully equipped with interactive touch panels that allow access to all web-based technologies.

Delegate Public School is proud of their Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program that operates each week. Students have access to a well-stocked and high-quality Vegetable Garden as well as a purposely built industrial/commercial kitchen for students to work in that rivals many high schools across the state.

The school has its own 25 Seat School Bus that allows students and staff the opportunity to access extracurricular activities with ease.

During 2021/22/23, Delegate Public School is involved in a program with the University of Canberra to raise aspirations amongst the Delegate Community. This initiative will see nine reciprocal visits between the school and university.

Our geographical location is ideally located for a range of recreational activities. Located halfway between the coastal towns of Merimbula/Pambula and the NSW Snowfields of Perisher Valley/Thredbo makes Delegate the ideal location for all season's activities to take place during down times. Our nearest town of Bombala has all the amenities needed and is 36km away. Cooma is a little over an hour away where larger supermarkets are available to all.

Staff are highly supportive of each other, students and the wider community. The culture within the staff is extremely positive and one where everyone is known, valued and cared for.

The Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Instruction position is a leadership role dedicated to ensuring that literacy and numeracy knowledge and skills are embedded in curriculum and assessment; high quality teaching practices are enhanced; and the capabilities of middle leaders are strengthened in literacy and numeracy instruction. It shares the broader educational imperatives of the Assistant Principal position but with an explicit focus on the leadership of effective, evidence-based literacy and numeracy teaching and assessment practices for improved student learning outcomes across the curriculum.

The Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Instruction provides high support and guidance to enhance teacher growth and development in literacy and numeracy and strengthens school wide instructional capabilities across the curriculum for middle and senior leaders.
