Dareton Public School is located in the Far South-West of NSW and is part of the Sunraysia Network of schools, on the land of the Barkindji people. The school caters for 60 students, 96% of whom identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait background.  Our school has an inclusive and vibrant learning environment, focussed on meeting the complex needs of our students by providing quality, differentiated teaching and learning programs and targetted student welfare initiatives including a Karate school, a Music Therapy program and a school Therapy Dog. Our students follow the school values of being Smart, Safe, Strong and Proud learners. All students learn Barkindji language through our partnmership with the AECG language nest and Indigenous culture is embedded into all aspects of daily school life.

We utilise our flexible funding to employee additional classroom teachers and SLSO's to ensure our students are heavily supported through the provision of small classes, personalised intervention and flexible learning opportunities. In 2021, we will have 4 mainstream composite classes.

Our school is developing a culture of evidenced based, data informed decision making, collaborative practice and ongoing improvement.
