The Mathematics Growth Team is a component of the NSW Mathematics Strategy which aims to ensure that mathematics teachers are supported to deepen their curriculum knowledge, improve pedagogical and assessment practices, and implement research-based practices that improve student learning outcomes. This will involve identifying teacher professional learning needs, providing in-class support and ensuring that teachers gain expertise and knowledge in differentiating instruction.
The candidate will be expected to: Work across multiple secondary schools and responsively adapt professional learning to the needs in differing contexts; Partner with communities of primary schools in relevant catchment areas to support interventions in the secondary context; and Provide oversight and guidance for the evaluation of intervention strategies, in collaboration with the Centre for Education Statistics and Evaluation (CESE).
