Carinya School provides specialized educational support for students with autism and mental health problems and also for students with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities and mental health problems. Educational programs at the school cover all key learning areas and are predominantly delivered at the Life Skills level.
Carinya School is situated at Mortdale an shares grounds and facilities with Mortdale Public School. The school has an enrolment of up to 56 students with a capacity of eight classes delivering programs to students in Years 3 to 12. Wellbeing and positive student engagement are strong features of the school's strategic focus.
Carinya school works in partnership with students, parents, carers and allied health professionals to deliver quality learning programs with attention to personalized learning that is meaningful, dignified and rigorous.
