The Assistant Principal Special Education is responsible for supporting the staff in the two Multi-categorical Classes and the two Behaviour classes (which form the Tutorial Centre). Burke Ward Public School's current enrolment is 280 students.
The successful applicant will be responsible for leading the special education team (teachers and SLSOs) to develop individualised behaviour and curriculum programs and to implement research based pedagogies into classrooms.
High levels of communication and interpersonal skills are required for the successful applicant as they will be regularly liaising with Department of Education staff, school staff, parents / carers and students.
