Bredbo Public School is situated on Ngarigo land, in the gateway to the picturesque Snowy Mountains between Cooma and Canberra. The school provides a dynamic and nurturing learning environment in which 13 students access quality educational programs. The school has strong community links and is the focal point of the Bredbo Community. The school provides a happy, caring, supportive and aspirational environment where all students are encouraged to strive for excellence in every facet of learning.

Bredbo Public School is characterised by sound levels of achievement, motivated learners and support from the community. The school has excellent facilities for its students including well–resourced classrooms, state of the art technology, an automated library, modern playground equipment and spacious grounds and gardens. The dedicated and highly motivated staff are committed to providing high quality teaching and learning opportunities relevant to the needs of all students.

Bredbo Public School is a proud member of the Southern Small Schools Network, which supports staff to engage in evidence based professional learning and network with colleagues in other local small schools. The school is committed to improving student achievement and growth in both reading and numeracy, and a differentiated and individualised approach to learning supports student success in a multi – stage context. The 2021 – 2024 Strategic Improvement Plan places focus on student growth and attainment, student wellbeing and community partnerships. This is underpinned by a focus on high-quality assessment practices and the effective use of data to inform next steps in the teaching and learning cycle. There is a focus on high-impact and explicit teaching practices, underpinned by researched-based professional learning and evidence-based best practice.
