Bonalbo Central School, anticipated enrolment for 2021 is 130 (50 in Primary, 80 in Secondary), which includes 31% of students identifying as Aboriginal, is a small rural K-12 school located in the upper reaches of the Clarence Valley between Tenterfield and Casino. The school sits proudly on Wahlubal land of the Bundjalung Nation. The school services a low social-economic community, providing quality education for students from Bonalbo, Old Bonalbo, Tabulam, Drake, Mallanganee and Ewingar areas. Teaching staff range from experienced to beginning and early career teachers.
There is currently one integrated MC class, catering for students with autism and mental health. The school values of Participate, Integrity, Respect, Excellence underpin our daily work and guiding principles from Stronger Smarter (Honour, Courage, Challenge, Patience, Presence) form the basis of the wellbeing system.
The school is well resourced and supported by a small and developing P&C, involved local AECG and the local community.
