Bidwill Public School is located in Bidwill Mt Druitt and
services a complex community. The school is located on a
shared site with Chifley College Bidwill campus, providing
education from Preschool to Year 12.
Bidwill Public School is welcoming and friendly and
encourages the active involvement and participation of
parents/caregivers and the wider community. The school
supports a daily breakfast club, lunchtime girls' group, a
sensory room, Kids Hope mentoring program, PSSA sport
and a weekly Campus Kitchen distributing food items that
have been donated by the local wider community.
Enrolments average 408 across three preschool classes,
four MC support classes and fifteen mainstream classes.
The students' cultural background includes approximately
26% of students from an Indigenous background and 41%
of students from Pacific Islander backgrounds.
The teaching staff range from early career to highly
experienced teachers, who are committed to continuous
improvement in their capacity to deliver a broad and high
quality curriculum to all students in an enjoyable,
supportive and stimulating learning environment, fostering
excellence and equity for all.
Bidwill Public School strives to improve student outcomes
in Literacy, Numeracy and in all key learning areas,
developing inclusive teaching programs that meet the
individual needs of every learner. The school also supports
a holistic approach to student education including Positive
Behaviour for Learning (PBL).
Bidwill Public School is part of the Early Action for Success
(EAfS) strategy. An Instructional Leader supports the
professional learning needs of staff in differentiating
instruction in supporting tiered interventions in Literacy and
Numeracy.
