Bathurst South Public School is a small regional school located at the foothills of Mount Panorama (Wahluu). We have a student enrolment of 219 students. Our Aboriginal student population has grown from 12% to 24% over the past 13 years.
The school has seen an increased enrolment of students with additional learning and support needs. Two support classes have commenced from Term 2, 2021 to cater to this need.
We have a very experienced staff with over 60% of staff having taught at the school for more than 10 years. Bathurst South Public School's Index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage (ICSEA) figure shows that 8% of our students are in the top quarter of this scale while 76% of our students are in the bottom half.
Our educational outcomes and achievement has shown consistent growth with baseline data having met 2020 targets for Reading, Numeracy, and Attendance. We will strive for continued growth and improvements over the next four years as evidenced within the School Improvement Plan.
