Barrington Public School has an enrolment of 47 students in 2020 from a wide range of socio economic backgrounds, including 9 students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school has an experienced, dedicated staff committed to achieving improved student learning outcomes.
The school showcases the academic, cultural and sporting achievements of students at every opportunity. Staff ensure teaching and learning programs are differentiated to cater for the diverse learning needs of students and embrace the use of technology to enhance the learning programs of students. Staff are committed to the core values of Care, Choice, Respect and Responsibility, and explicitly teach expectations of behaviour in all classrooms.
The school actively engages the community in the decision making processes of the school; is strongly supported by a hard working P&C Association; works closely with the Bucketts Way Community of Schools and the Southern Teaching Principals Collegial Leadership Network; to provide students with a vast range of extra curricula experiences.
The school is situated in an attractive rural setting and is well resourced. The playground is spacious and attractive. The canteen is open one day a week, is run by the P&C and operated by volunteers.
